Ms Qiao grew up in Shanghai and in the mid-90s became one of the first few mainland China students to be admitted by University of Oxford post 1949. Trained as a computer scientist at Oriel College, Ms Qiao started her career in the IT industry and held various senior management positions at Intel Corporation in the UK, Germany and China. She has extensive experience in sales and marketing, as well as managing cross-cultural and multi-lingual collaboration. After becoming a mother in 2005, Ms Qiao took an interest in education and did extensive research of the international schools in Beijing and Shanghai. In 2008 she left Intel to set up Wellington College in China. |

David Cook was previously Founding Headmaster at Repton School, Dubai, and, before that, was Head or Principal at Dulwich College in Thailand, Lewes Old Grammar School in England and Qatar Academy. David studied History at King’s College, London and Lincoln College, Oxford, before embarking on his teaching career at Westminster School in London, one of the leading academic schools in Britain, where he met his wife, Debbie, who taught Economics there. He has had various historical works published and more recently collaborated with his wife on an acclaimed travel book on Malaysia and an as yet unpublished biography of Dr Mahathir, the former Malaysian prime minister. David has five children in the school. |
After a degree in Geography from King’s College, London, and training as a teacher in Oxford, Murray taught at two top schools – St.Edward’s, Oxford, and Charterhouse – before moving on to our prestigious partner school, Wellington College UK in 1991. During his 20 years there he was Head of Geography, Housemaster of a boys’ boarding house, and latterly both Deputy Director of the IB Diploma and CAS Coordinator, as well as Head of a Year 12 group of 220 pupils. His wife Claire teaches in the Nursery, having taught previously at Eagle House, Wellington College UK’s junior school. They have a son in the Sixth Form.

Mrs. Jane Robinson holds a Certificate in Education from Nottingham University UK, BE’d ( Hons) from Surrey University, UK, together with a TEFL qualification. Her vast experience includes teaching at all levels in primary education, several years as a subject coordinator and 19 years as a Primary Head. Prior to assuming her new role at Wellington College Tianjin, Mrs. Robinson led the development of the primary department at Warwick Academy, Bermuda for 16 years and was the first Primary Head at TEDA International School, Tianjin for three. She is married with adult children. |
Chang worked for one of the Fortune 500 companies for approximately 5 years in Tianjin, growing from staff member to the team leader of the accounting department after her university study. In 2003, she went to the UK to study for her BSc in Applied Accounting, her ACCA qualification, and an MSc in Accounting with Finance. Before moving back to her home town, Tianjin in 2010, she worked as an auditor in an accounting firm in London for over 3 years. Chang is now a qualified FCCA.
