E.A.L in the Senior school

Specialist E.A.L teachers in the Senior school guide and monitor pupils' progress to ensure that they receive appropriate teaching and other advice. Pupils receive withdrawal and in-class support in English to help them to access the curriculum as a whole at the earliest opportunity.
The College offers the International General Certificate Secondary Education (IGCSE) English as a Second Language (ESL) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) courses are offered to pupils in Key Stages 4 and 5 respectively. Pupils with E.A.L must take an English language qualification at GCSE stage, but it could be something other than a GCSE, and this is decided on an individual basis. Pupils joining at 16 with E.A.L will be expected to attain at least level 6 on the IELTS test by the time they leave. We are sure these courses will be of great benefit to our students.
