How are reading skills and information literacy further promoted?

Many initiatives are regular events throughout the school year:

interactive displays for major themes and topics
author and illustrator displays
new book arrivals stand
teacher and parent information bulletins and inserts in community newspapers
visiting authors, illustrators and storytellers
WCIT website development for the Library including "Useful WebLinks" and other topical information sources
library information brochures and bookmarks
provision of appropriate reading materials & book list recommendations
internationally based literacy initiatives eg. World Book Day, Children's Book Awards
bibliographic resource lists available on request to parents and teacher
