Art at Wellington College is intended as a dynamic programme to enhance both the academic educational life at the school and school environment itself. The numerous displays of work by the students will add a further dimension to the school corridors and the various art rooms. The students will also show their work in inter-school competitions and exhibitions, some of which we hope to host at the College. The Art department has four studios and is establishing an excellent range of facilities for drawing, painting, printmaking and ceramics. There is also a state-of-the-art Mac computer suite with the latest on-screen digitizers for digital art work using Creative Suite 5 and other professional standard software. As at Wellington College in England, the Art department is establishing a reputation for producing original art works of the very highest standard. The College offers a wealth of specialist teaching including painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, installation, photography, video and film, aiming to place its students at some of the very best Art schools and universities internationally.
Students’ art work is prominently displayed around the school, including installations in unexpected places, with regular art exhibitions in the Exhibition Hall above the Wellesley arch. The College will also hold regular exhibitions of high profile artists and photographers as well as host creative competitions and events linked with Wellington College in England. Our students' work in the older year groups is of exceptional originality and quality. This section of the website will showcases some of the notable pieces of painting, design, sculpture and other visual art produced by some of our students.
